Default 454 dip stick...

Has anyone else had issues with the 454 blowing oil out of the dip stick. Bought a new dip stick and sleeve put it in but it's shooting oil out. It is an aftermarket 6 qt oil pan. No other leaks or issues, but I can't tune the carb when oil is leaking out around the sleeve. Has anyone else fixed this issue?

Sleeve could be missing the o-ring.
Clean sleeve and tube with lacquer thinner, BraKleen, or alcohol, and smear Permatex #2 on sleeve liberally, and assemble and let set overnight to cure.
Ensure there is a working PCV valve and vented filler cap.

Was it doing this with the old dipstick and tube? The two most likely causes would be piston ring blow-by pressurizing the crankcase, or insufficient crankcase ventilation. You want a PCV valve on one valve cover hooked up to the big vacuum fitting at the base of the carb, and a breather in the other valve cover. If you don't have this type of venting, do so first and then report back your results.

Thanks I'm gonna try that tomorrow. It's a completely new build, and what your saying makes perfect sense. It wasn't doing it until my brother put a oil cap on that didn't ventilate and that's when the oil leak started. I'm thinking that by putting a pcv valve on it and putting it in the carb that should work perfect

Exactly what I was going to say as well, big block Chevys need a lot of venting especially if you turn them up much.

I would if you haven`t already put a K & N breather passenger side rear.and a PCV valve driver side front .That should help.
