OK c4camaro, take a look at this video. It will walk you through the ignition timing and plug wire set-up procedure:

Yeah, Boxwrench has some cool videos. I like the one that they had with the 351 windsor that they pulled from a boat that had the chocolate milkshake in it.

Have you checked for "keyed" power at the distributor, with a test light or meter yet?
Time for using some deductive reasoning. The engine ran before the headers install, but now it doesn't run after the install...
Look at everything that you layed a finger on, every wire, connection, etc. Did a wire to the distributor or coil get knocked off or broken?Maybe the headers shorted on something and popped a fuse, breaker, relay, or fusible link, as mentioned ^ ?

i dont think i touched anything, and i have a battery meter testeri think, but it only says 9 volts on it. ill see what i can do about the fuses. i got a haynes manual for 1984-1987 camaros. but my engine block is suposobly 1991 beacuse it has centre bolt valve covers.
Centerbolts started in 87 I think but I'm not 100% sure. Maybe even a little earlier. I almost bought some 187 heads centerbolt that were from 87 for 25 bucks that go on a 305.
Where are you getting the 9 volts from? Like, where are you putting the leads from your voltmeter to?

after 300 hits and 60 replies, im embarresed to say it was an unpluged dist. cap wire. i pluged the wire in. and my dad tapped the key with my #1 sparkplug out to check for spark after the wire being pluged back in. and unexspectinly it fired right up and sounded AWSOME. thanks alot guys for all the help. this thread has been a benefit to me now that all u guys have taught me if i ever run into a problem like that. but in the end... it was an unplugged wire the whole time! thanks guys anyways, dont be mad at me for wasteing ur time beacause you guys really did teach me alot.
