Default 3.8 to lt1

Whats up guys? I have a 96 Camaro auto. with a 3.8 thatI plan on pulling out. Theres just a few thingsI want to be sure of beforeI do so. I have a few questions. I know that the auto trannies put in the 4th gen. 6cyl and 8cyl Camaros are the same trannies. My only question is are both trannies built to withstand the power of the lt1? Second what am I going to have to swap out as far as theelectronics go in order to put in the lt1 but keep in mind the lt1 is coming out of another 4th gen. Camaro? Third what am I going to have to purchase as far as motor mounts goto install the lt1 properly?I know I'm going to drop the motor out of the bottom so is it possible to do the swap in my garage if I go out and rent the right type of lift? Thanks to all who share their knowledge in advance. I would also appreciate any links that would help in either the swap or when buying the parts.

Comp., harness', tranny (V6 and V8 tranny's ARE NOT THE SAME and cannot be interchanged due to bellhousing pattern, engine, kmember is the min. you'll need

cheaper to buy a V8 parts car for all the stuff you'll need

Even cheaper just to buy a V8 car
