Default 1974 l82 ????

I had a stock L82 and I rebuilt the stock heads and put a 1969 camaro Z28 aluminum intake and 282H comp cams camshaft and 11 to 1 compression ratio pistons in the block. I also added a gear drive timing set, HEI, and Flowtech headers. This camaro had a turbo 430 tranny in it so I also put a 3000 stall converter and shift kit in. It has 2.5 inch dual exhaust with 15 inch glass packs. Can anyone give me any Idea of what kind of horsepower it is maybe putting out. I am thinking about a 383 engine build with Vortec heads.

I'm guessing you're pretty close to 300 hp, but its a lame guess because I don't know if your 11:1 pistons are with the 76cc chambers or something else. What the heck is a turbo 430 tranny? Do you mean a turbo 400? Your stock L82 dialed in at about 245 hp with about the same intake manifold, but the CR was down to about 9.5.

The turbo 430 is a turbo 400 they put in motor homes. I don't know why it was in the car, but I figured it out when I changed gears and needed to change the speedometer gear. It does have the stock 76cc chamber heads.

I know of no existance of a 430 trans. Never heard, saw, smelled, or rumored of one. They did put a TH475 in mobile homes though.

It has been 10 years since I looked at it. Maybe it was a turbo 475.
