tranny fluid will do it..lol..
the proper way is to wet sand out any orange peel with like 1500 sand paper, buff it out with a 3 step system and keep wax on it.....carpet-vacuum it,spray purple stuff on the carpet and get a bucket off just suuds and scrub it and then with a dry cloth rub out the dirt, same works on seats...dont get it on any white lettering like wipers on or whatever as it will disapear.
if you dont want to try buffing and wet sand just throw on some cheap silicone polish, but when a car is wet-sanded that too me makes the paint...

I am guilty of using the cheepies, I don't mind the "eagle 1" products. My x was in love with the spray wax for thevette and I think it sucks.

Elbow grease. Cheap as it gets!

I wouldn't wet sand, unless the car has never had it done and it really needs it. Remember, that is paint your removing.

Right now I am using Mothers clay kit on my Camaro. Then after claying the paint I am using Liquid Glass on it. Its not a wax, its a polymer. I have used it for a LONG time and have no complaints.

DO NOT WETSAND YOUR CAR!!!!

this is bad advice. you can totally screw up your paint. that is more than just detailing. this is not a simple process for someonethat has never done it. you would need to practice on junk cars first.

to give a good detailyou should
1) wash your car. don't forget jambs and under hood
2) get some detailing clay and lube and follow the directions (if you drop it at all, DO NOT use it again)
3) clean tires (this doesn't mean justput Armour All or some other protectant on them)
4) wash car again to get rid of residue left behind byclaying
5) wipe down with 100% cotton towel
6) use a quality swirl remover (not really for beginners)
7) apply a good polish to the car
8) apply a good quality wax to the car
9)dress the tires
10)clean the windows
11)go cruising

You don't really want to wet-sand if you have no experience, it's very easy to go too deep and ruin your paint. The best thing to do is spend your time on it. When I "detail" my car it takes a day. Washing, drying, claying, washing, cleaner wax, regular wax, polish, carpet shampoo, vacuum, windows, interior, tires and rims. It's been my experience if you make the tires look good it makes a huge difference.
With paint the better the foundation the better the shine. There are videos out there that show you how to wet-sand step by step, you should look into it. Know this it takes a long time.
