ECM,MAF,Throttle body swap
This could possibly be a very pointless or dumb question but was wondering anyway, I know that some comparable models of cars share engine models yet have different ECM's mass airflow sen, and throttle bodies and therefore have more power.
Example, my old car was a 87 Nissan 200SX S12 frame, had the VG30E engine, the same block was shared by the 87 300ZX and 300ZX turbo cars. A throttle body, MAF, and ECM swap from a 87 300ZX into the 200sx created a massive response gain as well as a 10-15HP gain and better acceleration in the mid range gears and took absolutely no adjustment as the fuel, air, and timing adjustments on both cars are automatic.
Is there any such swap feasible between a LS1 camaro and one of its LS1 counterpart corvettes? If not all 3 systems, possibly just one of the 3 to gain some better tuning and response? Not sure if theyre quite as interchangable so wanted to get some thoughts before I delved into deep research on the matter.

i dont know about the ls1 vette parts. camaro69 may come back for u on this. i think there the same except for exhaust and intake and maybe the tb. may be a diff cam to. i think u can get a ls6 top end and gain a little. if u are looking for hp get the heads u have ported, set up a more aggressive cam and valve train and add some lt headers and a 58mm tb. depending on what cam used u should gain some imprssive hp. elliotts portworks can set u up.
as far as i know the ls1 in the vettes and the f-body is exactly the same, the only reason they claim for higher hp ratings is mostly for sales,thats why the f-body was always under-rated to the vette.you really wont see a difference by swapping parts
We do not need ecu swaps since our factory system is so tuner friendly. All you need is HP tuners and a PC and you are good to go. HP tuners cost about the same as a hand held tuner and has far less limitations.
The factory MAF is very good and people that swap them are just wrong. The factory MAF is good up to over 500WHP and at that point it is very easy just to change over to SD (speed Density)
For the TB there are a ton of aftermarket TBs out there that offer small to mild gains. The factory LS1 TB is very good to start out with so unless you are well bolted it will do just fine.

Thanks a bunch yall, as you can tell I'm still learning to adjust to having an engine of such potential and so well built for expansion. My other projects are limted BY their factory parts, not regardless of them like the LS1. I had a suspicion that there wasnt any real difference in power between the LS1 vettes and the camaro, marketing is everything after all and a $50k car is harder to sell if it cant really outdo a $30k one by very much isnt it? lol thanks again I think im going to just start with my heads cam and valvetrain as suggested as soon as I get my new fuel pump in and get it going again.
