94 is OBDI with OBDI connector. The 95 is still OBDI but with a OBDII connector. You will have to use a OBDI scanner with a an OBDII connector adapter. You can't flash the codes, no matter how hard you try.

pete i thought 93 was obd1 and 94-95 were the 1.5 or obd 1 with the obd2 plug. according to the instructions my scanner will scan both 1 and 2 and will do a 93 or 94 but not 95. it scanns my od2 97 gmc 1ton.

The 93 still used the old OBDI ECM (MEMCAL chip) which did not control the transmission, and the trouble codes could be flashed. Early 94s were OBDI but used flash memory and also controlled the transmission, later ones were OBD1.5. Both of the newer versions could not flash trouble codes. Looks like GM ran out of OBDI connectors in late 94 and didn't want to make more so they used OBDII connectors instead. lol
