Default 1995 Camaro cold start problem

My Son's new car is very nice, but the day after purchasing it we noticed that after sitting overnight it was hard to start (10 seconds of cranking). Once it starts it runs fine and if you shut it off it will restart fine unless it sits for about 8 hours. Also I do not hear the fuel pump cycle when I turn on the key, but I am not sure if it should prior to starting.
I don't mind changing the fuel pump out, but would not want to if it is something else.
Could it bleed fuel out while it sits through a return line to the tank?
Should the pump cycle for a few seconds prior to starting and is that something I should here.
I would be grateful for any help that could be given,
Bob

yes the pump should come on and put it back up to pressure. do a fuel pressure test and see what u are getting. also do a leak down test on the fuel system to check for leaky injectors or a bad pump letting pressure go back to the tank.

You can do a quick check by priming the system several times before attempting to start. After the car has been sitting overnight, turn the key ON & OFF several times before attempting to start. If the engines now starts right up, you know the system is not holding pressure.

Do you folks know anything about this pump on ebay -TRE-343 255 LPH Fuel Pump will fit every model, engine, type or style for every vehicle listed:
At $80 that is very cheap.
Thanks again,
Bob
