My post count seems to be static. Only reads as two. Does it mean two posts or two threads started? I've definately made more than two posts and still don't seem to have all the options.

Edit: Ok, now has gone to 3; must you need to make 10 threads. How useless.

 

Off topic posts don't count towards your total post count.

I've been here 4 years. You better believe I have more posts than 397. I have screwed with people WAY more than 397 times.

 

this may be something unique to our board. many other sites count all posts.

here we only show tech related post counts. OT allows you to spam the LTE thread or start useless threads, or get into an argument about the varying fuzziness of kitten breeds. Because a high post count can inspire confidence from newer or inexperienced users, we feel it isnt appropriate to award behaviors such as.... off the top of my head and not directed in any particular direction...... posting a series of monkey pictures

Nice dropping the required posts from 10 to 3 too btw. The site's a bit nicer to use now.

 

which required posts are you talking about? there may be some artifact setting that is making it difficult for new users to get around
