I recently just put in an In-Dash DVD in my car, and I wired everything up and at first I couldnt get it to turn on, then after some playing around with the wires I connected the constant (yellow wire) coming from the radio to the power wires (red wires) and it turned on, but now I have no constant so when I shut off the car I loose all my presets and everything, is there anything I can do to fix this ? I have a feeling its no the stock wiring because the guy said he rewired the car because it was a Bose car, and when I go it it had a cheap *** stereo in it that was aftermarket and when I rolled down the window I couldnt hear even with it full blast, now it has a Dual In-Dash with aftermarket speakers and subs so it sounds ALOT better but the constant dont work, what can i do ?

You my friend have an easy fix! Just run a wire from your battery through the fire wall to your stereo. Please put at least a 10 amp fuse on it. The other option is to tap it into the hot side of a fuse in your fuse block. You still need to add your own inline fuse though.

Its a Dual In-Dash head unit, and I know this sounds stupid but where is the fuse box on the 96, I found it easy on my 94 but for some reason I cant find it on the 96, is it in a different spot, or did I just not look good enough on a bad day

I am not familiar with your year, but it can only be a couple places. First under the dash on the drivers side, second when you open the doors, it can be on the side of the dash if it makes sense, check both the drivers and passengers. I know old camaros don't have a glove box, if yours does check in there, and finally under the hood.usually near the battery.

k will look there, thanks for the help, now can i wrap a wire around the fuse and put it back in or do i have to pull the panel off and hardwire it that way ?

They make crimps specifically for fuses. That is what I reccomend!

Ok so I hardwired it to a fuse, but it keeps my amp on, and it wont shut the amp off, so my battery dies, sonow what do i do......

Now you need to look at the wire you ran from your head unit to the amp. It needs to be the " remote" lead coming out the back in the wire harness. The wire should only come on when your acc "ignition switch" is turned on. You can run a wire yourself if you need to from another fused in your fuse box, but It will have to be on a switgched fuse. You can tell by turning off your car and testing aspot in your fuse block with the fuse pulled out. If ther isn't any power then turn on your car, if you have power then, you are good to go.
