Talk to me about auxiliary input adaptors

I have a 2002 Camaro SS and I'm looking to add an auxiliary input convertor to the stock Monsoon stereo system. I have the single CD player. I want to add inputs so I can route the audio from an XM receiver or from my MP3 player directly through the stereo without using an FM transmitter. I've thought about getting a new head unit with auxiliary and USB inputs, but I'd really rather keep the factory system in place as I figure it might be more reliable.

Anyway, do any of you have any experience with auxiliary input converters? If so, which ones do you recommend and why? Do they work as advertised? Thanks.

Here's one that I'm looking at, but I'm not sure that it works with my car.

You really don't have much wiggle room with the stock system. It doesn't look like that adapter will work for your car, but you can always pull it out and see if it has the CD changer port, then it might work. Best thing I can suggest is an aftermarket head unit. You have to have something to plug an adapter into on your head unit, and if yours doesn't have the CD changer port then your SOL.

USA Spec PA11-GM45 -- have them in my '01 & '02 Camaros -- pretty good solution, connects via CD Changer port and better than PIE.
