Default stock (?) Bose CD play not playing CDs

Ok ive got a 1994 Z28 and it has a Bose CD player but when i put cds in it says CD Err and it wont eject them until i turn the car off and open the door (to shut everything down, havent tried just turning off the stereo but thats beside the point) anyway radio works fine, nice and loud good BOSE Delco amp (not sure why the amp speaker cover says Delco but it says BOSE Delco) Is it just dirty? is it gone bad? can i clean it easily and try again? should i take it out and look at the wiring?!? Ahh ive got soo many questions and i am not an electrical specialist..

Yeah, try picking up a CD drive cleaning kit from some electronic store. The one kit with a CD that has little brushes on it might help you. If not I'm sure that a 13 year old car would need it if it hasn't been done before.
