Stock bose

Hi I was wondering what the stock Bose front speakers max wattage and rms is. I am thinking about getting a new system but don't know if I should replace the front two. My rear side ones are gone so those have to be replaced anyways. Just trying to save 100 bucks. Thanks!

300 maybe? I wouldn't replace anything unless it goes bad... Great system imo. If you do... Just upgrade to the Monsoon system which features basically same stuff except a 200 watt amp instead of a 100 watt

The RMS on those front speakers should be 100.

Ya it is a good system... I'm just missing the two by the back passenger seats. Do you think basic Sony or pioneer speakers would work fine with them? My only problem with the Bose speakers is when I turn it up loud the singers voice cuts out because the front speakers try to act like subs or something. Is there any way to fix that so those speakers don't do that? I have a pioneer head unit with the bass all the way down and it still cuts out. I like bass but I want to be able to hear the song. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

If the sony or pioneer speakers are rated for 100 or so then they should work fine. For the bass, you can get bass blockers or some passive crossovers to cut the bass out.

100 max watts or 100 RMS?

greenarrow 03-29-2009 10:58 AM

well actually that's the same thing, RMS is Rated maximum signal or strength. I would have to look it up to be sure, but it should be 100 recommend watts

Ok so my deck is a pioneer 50x4...does that mean i can only have 4 speakers hooked up to it? My bose system has 3 right now but when i get the two side ones by the back passenger seats will they all be able to hook up to the deck or will i have to get something else?

It just depends how you do it. Someone help me out here, does he's bose system have one amp or amps on all speakers? If it's got one amp then you are good. If it's got an amp on each speaker, then you'll need to take and tap and positive from one speaker and the negative of another speaker and run those to the sub.
