i bought my car with sony front door speakers, no speakers on the sides of the rear seats, and instead those were re-wired to the back where 2 mtx boxes sit with 6 3/4" (i think) mtx road thunder speakers in them.

My question is what are they? i've searched everywhere for mtx speaker enclosures with road thunder speakers and only can find subwoofers.... these speakers are no larger than 6 3/4" so i know they arent a sub.... but they also look like they are only 1 way like a sub...

welll anyways - they are blown and I have no idea what im going to do. the front door speakers sound great but I want to add more bass into the back w/o getting actual subs.

Any suggestions? I can also show pics if anyone wants to see the current boxes/setup. Thanks.[/align]

 

i would just put a factory head unit it and try to get stock speakers. it just sounds better to me. what ever the car came with........
