Default Kicker subs help!

Alright guys so I'm stuck with a hard decision and I'm not sure what to choose... I have a choice to choose either one 12in kicker L5 solobaric in a probox or two 10s L5 solobarics in a regular ported box. Either one I choose I will be running with a 1000W 2 channel amp. So the question is what would be the better choice as in what would bump harder??

any particular reason your going for the L5 and not the L7...

your best bass would be 2 12" L7s with this amp (i used to have this setup in a caviler it was disgusting with the doors closed and windows up the sunroof would bounce up and out of the seals)

Reason I'm getting the L5s is because my brother is selling them and I'm going to try and get them really really cheap as in almost free!!!!

I was leaning more towards the two tens but was thinking maybe the amp would make the 12 hit harder since it was just going to deliver power to only one speaker

It depends on what space you're going to put them in. I would suggest that you get the two tens as they will be louded together than the 12 single. And being that they are in a bandpass box, that will help them also. Bridge you amp and run the speaker in series if they and the amps can handle the watts/ohms and you'll be happy.

They should be close enough, they should get to 30-25 Hz, which is good enough for what he's doing with them. If it was a spl car or a show car then the options would be different.

I would stay with the 10's for good bass and they won't take up that much space. The 12 will also work good in the JGC, but won't be as loud, but will save space.

I have an 02 JGC with two 12's in sealed box in the back and it takes up a bit of space, it will rattle everything when turned up, but it is usually kept around 1/4 gain for daily driving. And they are two older RF with a kenwood amp pushing about 800 watts max.

dont put a 12" in a Grand Cherokee. The sound never ever comes out right, i dont know why, but it just makes the deep bass sound like crap. I ve had both in my last Grand Cherokee Limited... go with the 10s, in a jeep you are going to hear the hits, less, and the reverb more. (ESPECIALLY if you get road noise) The 10s will put out more kick and balance the sound.
