Talking Camaro tire pressure sensors

Is anyone having issues with Tire pressure monitor sensors with aftermarket rims.

I have a Camaro with Foose rims that looses all 4 sensors in about 5-10miles after programming. GM has a bulletin about some issues but our car seems to be the ONLY one that I can find that has this issue.

Rocky Ridge Big Truck did the conversion on this Camaro. They have done over 50, NONE of the other cars have had this problem.

Any Ideas??

Can you post the VIN? Our (GM's) TPM system has been known to pickup other sensors nearby when doing the relearn (perhaps referenced in the bulletin you are referring to?), but the rims could be the issue since they're not GM approved accessories..... Are you saying that these particular rims have been installed on other camaros without issues, or just that this style of rim has worked on other vehicles (models...etc)?

I will make severalassumptions here to provide you an answer since there is no specific failure information. Since you're indicating that many of these rims have been installed on other Camaros, it's possible that someone broke the sensors during install. Looking at the DTC chart we won't even set a code until we detect no transmit for at least 18 minutes. Depending on the malfunction, the sensor could have been broken in a manner that prevents entering Rolling mode, which would still allow the initial Learn to take successfully.

Hope that helps.

i had to buy aftermarket (custom) sensors to accommodate the rims i placed on my maro. not sure rather or not the guy was bull****ting me or not but i purchased them anyway. not knowing much about the sensors i was told i needed to buy aftermarket sensors for the rims.

GOOD LORD i swear things like the chevy TPS sensor are only on the car so that they go bad. the only time the sensors are ever telling me the tires are low, is because they have cracked and leak the air themselves.
