Removing 3 Piece Spoiler

Has anyone on here done it? My car at one point had the factory ground effects package, but the PO took it off (I think because of an accident), except for the 3 piece spoiler. How's that held on? Is there any chance of me managing to take it off and not damage the paint? (It's 10 years old, I don't expect that I'll be able to avoid damage...)

If I do have to paint, then I'll probably see about getting it off w/o damaging the spoiler, selling the spoiler, and buying one from an SS (because I like it, not cause I'm trying to make my car look like an SS :) )

if you want to remove it youll have to pull off the plastic trim from the hatch to access the nuts to take off the main spoiler then remove the taillights the get to the 3 nuts that attach the side pieces to the car. so in the end youll have 3 small holes in each quarter panel

Thanks for the info! I'll just do it this summer, then. I work at a car dealership during the summers, and it pays to be friendly to the guys in the body shop. :)

the last response was correct but there is more. first you do take off the deck lid trim inside as well as the 2 side trim pieces. There are 3 nuts holding each side piece on. They come off rather easy. Now onto the spoiler. Once you take off the interior trim, and take off the main spoiler, you do need to take out the 3rd brake light. There are 3 nuts in there, and there is also 1 at each end of the spoiler. The thing about this part though is, most of the time they have double sided tape as well on the spoiler. So you have to cut and dig and pry. Scratching the paint on the actual spoiler to no end. It took me about an hour to fully remove the rs kit from a car in the junkyard to add it onto my camaro.
