No power on #10 tail light fuse. I put a test light on the terminals and used the fuse to hold the wires to the contacts. Nothing with the key on or off. Fuse was not/is not blown.

I just took the fuse out to remove the test light. Engine was running. THe wires happened to stay in the fuse block, and the test light immediately came ON when I took the fuse out. I'm confused. No other lights came on.

The red wire is the power supply from the fusible link for the headlights. The yellow wires go from the switch to the headlight bulbs and should be hot only when the switch is turn "ON".

The connector chart above list the orange wire coming from IP fuse #10, but when I looked at the fuse block diagram, it shows the tail lights are fed from IP fuse #5. Make sure you're checking fuse #5. The I/P Dimmer switch circuit fuse also looks to be listed incorrectly. How have you checked the fuse, visibly, with a continuity tester or replacing with a known good fuse? Continuity testing is the best practice in my opinion because you can not always see where the fuse element has opened. If you're sure you have power to the orange wire at the fuse block and not at the switch, check the continuity of the orange wire from the fuse block to switch in order to verify the wire hasn't been broken between the two terminals. The orange wire has to be hot for the tail lights to work

The drawing below shows which side of the #5 fuse holder feeds the orange wire to the switch. You should be able to check both fuse holders individually and should have 12V to a ground on both sides if the fuse is good.

Just got back on this project, been a long week.

When I crossed H and J and everything worked, it seems that is telling me the light switch is bad. Why is this not the case?

No power on orange with switch plugged in. on or off.

There is power on red wire.

Yellow wire powers up when lights are turned on.
