Hello. I have a 96 Z-28 and I can't get the parking lights to work. Fuses ok. Is there a relay? If so, where is it? I got in a small crash with it, Hit in the right rear from the side, but the wires are good. Had to replace the marker light socket. Is there a ground that may have been knocked loose? Back up, hazard, turn, brake, all work, but no parking/running lights. IP lights are out as well.

The ground used for the turn signals, brake and tail lights are the same in the rear of the car, so if the the other lights are operating, the ground should not be the problem. You need to verify if you have 12V to ground on the brown wire at the rear turn signal and side marker lights. Because the front lights are also not working, the problem sounds like it could be in the light switch contacts. Here is a schematic of the parking lights circuit that may help troubleshooting the problem.
There is power at the plug that enters the switch on the big red wire. When I send 12v through the brown wire at the back of the light switch plug, the front and rear parking lights both come on. I put 12 v via test lead to the little bulb in the light switch and it does light up.
Because when you jumped a crossed the two terminals and the lights worked, this would indicated the wiring going to the rear lights are OK . This is a schematic of the light switch connector. I marked it up to verify these are the wires that you jumped to energize the rear tail lights. If so, then this would tell me it's either the contacts in the switch or a poor terminal connection in the connector.
I just noticed the tail lights are powered by fuse #5 in the IP fuse block. Check that fuse before you do replace the switch. You can also check for 12V to a ground at the switch terminal #H. If you don't have power there, the tail lights won't have a power supply at the switch. It's very possible that the brown wire was grounded somehow during the accident or repair work and blew the fuse. You can also try jumping a cross terminals H and J with the switch in the on position and if the lights come on, this should indicate the switch is good and the problem is in the power supply to the switch.

Yes, those are the terminals that I jumped. As for the rest, I wil re read your post, follow up and then get back here with the results. I just got called into work.
Ok, I got a razor blade, and gently went through the insulation on the H and J terminals, with the switch in the parking light ON position, and everything came on, including the dinger under the dash board. That is the first time since the crash the dinger came on. Now what do I do? I was sure the switch was bad. The fuses are all ok.
Edit.: there is no power on the orange wire with the switch in any position. There is power on the big red and big yellow wires.
