Another Rim/Tire n00b
Okay, so I have a 98 v6.
I have never purchased rims before so I don't really know much about changing sizes and all that jazz. The tires on my car now are P235/55/R16
I know the basic of what each number means, but I don't know my offset.
To the best of my knowledge, my rims are 8 inches wide.
What I'm looking to do, is get replica Vette rims.
They are here
C6 Motorsport Rims
I don't want to change my tire size TOO much, so I don't have to change my speedometer and all that jazz.
Since the rims I want are a 1/2" wider, do I need wider tires?
If so, What size? How wide can I go? Cause Metric sucks and I don't know about how that all translates out.
Also, does the offset of those rims match up to stock? Does anyone know? I can't seem to find it.
ANY info would be greatly appreciated.
Also sorry if this is the 57898678 millionth time someone has posted this, no one ever seems to answer the questions I have.
Thanks ahead of time, -Blasko

I did a little research, and I foud out that Lakeshore Wheel and Tire has a grade F from the Better Business Bureau. So I may be holding off until I find them somewhere else, or something else.

I think you'll be a little more pleased with the look if you go with a wider tire in the rear. The "Staggered" look. I have 265s and love the look.

I'd like to keep the same Height/Diameter.
I can't argue though, I Wider tires= sexy tires.
I wasn't sure what I could fit, So I was playing safe.
How about MPG?

So Here is the deal:
I finally got my tires in. I get my tires from Sam's Club for the warranty they provide. It has served me well.
Anywho, With the new rims, Making a long story short, They scratched one.
now I have to order another and they will reimburse me later on.
Since they didn't mount them, I was refunded my installation cost.
That also voided my warranty.
I ended up getting them mounted and balanced perfectly fine from a friend at Modifications Unlimited. (They specialize in lifted trucks.)
So now I'm out a warranty, and Have a scratched Rim.
I have no pics as of yet, as it was dark when I got home.
I'll have some for tomorrow, and some poser shots later in the week.
