235/55/16 tires are limited

Shopping for new tires for a 16x8 rim for 4th gen,I can only find bfg traction ta's and kuhmo solus.
Is this it?
I think getting the 02 ss rims 17 x9 be better option just because of more tire selection but I'd like to rotate my tires ,some 16s you can but most 17" tires are not rotate able ?

directional tires go front to back only. have you looked at 245 50s or 235 50s

80sz 02-21-2016 03:09 AM

I will ck those sizes,I want to be at 26.1" tall tire.

Nice, the 245/50/16 opened up few more.
The falken looks nice, how's that ride, handle?
These are 25.7" tall, stock is 26.1 but it only throws off spedo 1 mph.

small shorter profile should increase handling with minimal loss of ride quality.

the 225 ,or an 245 is better ,17s are better to but yes the 235 is just not being made anymore so the cost is high ,225 50 16 under 300,00 for a set 4 ,if you go 17 you can find 245 for about 300,00 a set the big sellers will have lots of sales with spring hear ,i do dicount tire direct an tire rack ,be careful for the years ,so far i have allways got the year of or in one case one year old ,some shady sellers will sell you 4 or 4 year old tires for the same price so know your year codes too,i am puting 225 50 16 on my rs ,but would not go that msall on my z28

I'm down to sticking with the 16x8s with the 245 size like the z came with ,or get a set of 2002 17 " chrome ss rims from hawks camaros site, can't decide......leaning towards the 16s just because they look perfect but the 17" tire a lot more choices.

Good call on the date code also,I don't want new 4 yr old tires,I won't order online because of that.

thats not bad for after market rims ,Automotix has them nfor 98.00 each shipped ,just scroll down same 10 spoke wheel i like the 5 spoke chome version of grey for ss other years ,i have the zr1 wheel wich is popular ,sometimes one can find a donor car for 700.00 that has a great set of rims on it i almost bought one had those rims on it ,for me i just dont have the room for all the extra parts ,but price is right ,i may think about a set for my 99 3800

Got a set of Dunlop sport tire 225 50 16 for the 99 Base $250.00 4 tires ,they were $300.00 with 50.00 rebate ,about $60,00 to mount an balance them ,I kinda wish I needed new ones on the 95 the 275 40 17 are as low $350.00 a set of 4,that beats any dealers Discount deals ,300.00 for my 255 60 17 was a deal too,i love when I feel I can save on something ,probley do front end alingment too,the 235 on there is probley like 8 years old ,should feel great ,some people pay way to much for tires ,thrifty not cheap, 2015 model again ,
