Default Working on the car and figured I'd share.

So about three weeks ago I picked up a 96 V6 with 127,812 for $1000. Guy wanted $1500 but I talked him down. Well of course it needs some work so I've been doing a little here and there and figured it's time to share....and I know how we all love pictures so here ya go.

So currently the rims are mis-matched but a guy down the road has two salad shooters for $40 I'm gonna slap on for a while just to match. I eventually want the black C6 ZO6 wheels.

Not sure if she was in a wreck or not but they obviously replaced the front clip. I will be getting it painted soon.

The previous owner hacked all the wiring up for the stereo and I was left with a mess so I paid the local stereo shop $100 to wire it up.

So yesterday I installed my Jensen touch screen. I ordered the radio bezel off ebay for $21.00 and am waiting for that.

He had a blown Sony X-ploid in the drivers door, a good one in the passenger door, a missing speaker in the back driver side, and a stock one in the passenger rear. I got two new pioneers and put them in the front and moved the one sony in the back. I'll put new pioneer's in the back next paycheck.

I also replaced the tie rod ends and had an alignment. Still need all new front lower control arm bushings. I had a problem with the second gear start just flipping on and off by itself so I just disconnected the switch and its fine now. I need to replace the wiper switch because he wired it to a toggle switch for power. The factory switch works when the the toggle switch is on but not at all when its off. But the blinkers and cruise works fine no matter what so I gotta figure that out. I also need to replace the fuel pump due to the notorious starting problem. I'll update more as I finish more stuff.

Soo.... this guy wired up the wipers to a toggle for power why? Try chasing the original power wire and see where it actually leads to, then check and see if it has any breaks along the path.

Whats up with the FD turnout coat stuck in the bookshelf?

I have a cherrybomb on my 3.4L and it sounds great at idle and below 2100rpm.

Wow.. gotta love people that mess with the wiring.. Had a similar headache with mine when I bought it. What are you going to do about paint for the front?

I'm gonna probably have the whole thing painted. the back bumper has some cracks in the paint and the hood is just ever so slightly a different shade of white.

As for the wiper wiring....yea I gotta trace it and figure it out. Maybe pick up a new switch from the junk yard and see what happens.

What I like is that the motor looks nice and dry with only a coil pack hinting at a previous spark issue.

I like the looks of that hood! Stereo seems to be a common item that people like to slice and dice the wiring on. I just put a stereo in the 94 where the PO had removed the Bose system and hacked the wiring all to pieces. Not a bad looking car for $1000.
Nice tool boxes too!

Yea not bad at all. Just a suggestion but when you go to a distmantler check the cars with candy paint. They more than likely had good alarms, speakers, and wiring. I usually walk out with 2k worth of gear for 20 bucks!
