Where is the Idle air control valve on 99 Chevy Camaro?

I have a 99 Camaro 3.8 V6. I have been having issues since the fuel pump went out a year ago. Had the shop install a new fuel pump and that is when other issues started happening.

My battery gauge fluctuates, P0300 readings, and this quick jolt when driving.. (like a kick back).

I have went through the car. Replace the fuel pump, fuel filter, electrical lines, plugs, wires, coils, alternator, cat converter, belts, power steering, and still it is running rough.

I have tested the EGR to be good, cleaned the mass air intake sensor, all seems to be fine.

I have looked everywhere for the idle air control valve, and have a manual and can't locate it, still. I can even buy one for my car, but I can't locate it. I need your help...

Now, I am at a suck point. ANY thing I am missing, please feel free to refresh my blown memory about this car.

I love it, and will keep putting money into it, until it is purrrring again.

you dont have an iac because of the drive by wire the computer just uses the throttle blade for adjustments

have you looked into the injectors? o2s? cam/crank pos sensor?

Well, I went with my knowledge of the issues and codes that were being put out. Even though the MAF sensor and the intake air flow sensor was looking good and getting the correct reading.. I replaced them both for roughly $130. Immediately, the car came back to idle, no codes or lights... and ran beautifully.... again. Took for a long test drive and still no codes, hesitations or nothing.. Holy crap, after 2 years of fixing this camaro, I think I have finally got it.

I appreciate you thoughts. I made my mind wonder WTF.. cause it should not keep putting out these codes if the sensors are good. Well dont always trust the sensors....

Thanks again BasicConcepts!!! I will add you to my list, if you don't mind. Teresa

Moved from the new members section. This belongs in tech.

Thank you both. We purchased this car and after my husbands passing, I made it MY project to complete it in memory of him. I have put many of knuckle breaking hours and thousands of hard earned money, into this car. Now, it is complete. Thanks to this site and its members. I really appreciate all the help!! I still have a few minor things left (touch-ups) and it will get done.

I am still new to this site, and love to see what ya'll do to your rides; to better mine. But, I am lost on what you mean that you moved it in "tech".

Thanks again!! Teresa
