What does Flashing 'Security' light mean????

Unhappy What does Flashing 'Security' light mean????

Hope somebody out in Camaro land can help me out!!! Got A 2000 with 'SECURITY' light flashin. Of course car wont start or turnover. Getting power to fuses and relays but NO power to starter when turnin key in ignition. Ran wire from fuse to starter and engine cranks and runs but shuts down 3 seconds later---What is going on can anyone tell me what to do so I can ride again???

System cannot read the key for some reason such as an open or shorted circuit or bad key.

It could also be a problem with the security cylinder too. Happened to a friend of mine.

Whats the security cylinder? Do you mean the ignition/key cylinder?

my security light just started coming on and staying on after the car is turned off. Im thinking i either nicked a fuse while re-soldering my bcm or my ignition cylinder is done
