Cat-back and other exhaust improvements and CAI -- get air in an out of the engine more efficiently.

Also, if you have a blown engine, I would think about sticking in a 3.8L instead, or just getting a different Camaro... 3.4L is not a good investment, IMHO -- had one...

Wow, I can't believe some of the negative comments here. I guess I wasted my money too investing 2k into my 95 V6 3.4L!!!

inanitydefined had some good tips.

You have to consider 2 things for mpg. Efficiency vs power.
Your AC clutch and lines you can get rid of for a bypass pulley. Less weigth and less restrictions.
- 1-piece driveshaft is the way to go. But if you have a heavy foot, replace the rear-end for posi (limited slip).
- 2 wheels turning is more efficient than one and with a 1-piece driveshaft and a heavy foot the gears won't last long.
- Spark plugs and wires are a must.
- Check your fuel injectors and replace them if need be.
- Keep your EGR! Replace it if it's not functioning right.
- O2 sensors in your manifolds.
- High-flow catalyctic converter
- High-flow muffler
- If your car is standard, get rid of the secondary air pump.
- Make sure you have good wheel and axel bearings. Less resistance!
- Shocks and springs, sway bars, sway bar links, tie rod ends, inner tie rods.
- Coolant flush
- Change your PCV valve
- Cold Air intake
- Do the coolant bypass so 180c coolant isn't flowing through your throttlebody.
- Transmission cooler if it's automatic

Yeah, I was hoping this would turn into an informational thread about things folks have done to their Camaro to get better gas mileage, instead ... its a bunch of people saying not to waste your money.

Anyways, isn't an ECM swap possible in 93s? couldn't the ECM be tuned for better MPG?

i wasnt trying to criticize.....putting 2k in a v6 would be cool to better conditon the car or get more performance out of it because not much ppl do it, but to put 2k into a car to make it a hybrid. my car already gets around 27mpg how much more do you want?
