Has anyone considered putting the V6 Vortec into the camaro? Would it be possible without any major modifications to anything?

Do you like have a vortech 4.3 or something because this is like the 4th post you've mentioned that engine. by the way I highly doubt the new camaro will have a vortech 4.3

 

no but im partial to that engine. Puts out decent power and isa nice size engine to play with.

 

Power output of the newer LU3/LG3 Vortec engines is 180-200 hp (134-150 kW) and 245-260 ft·lbf

 

A couple years ago my best friend bought a new single cab Silverado with the 4.3 and wanted to run me. I totally killed him, it must have been by 5 car lengths at least. Stock the 3.8 performs better than the 4.3. The 4.3 has 5 hp less than the 3.8 if the numbers are correct but they would probably do better in a Camaro than in a truck or suv. I know you like that motor but the point of swaping a motor is usually to put something in that has more horsepower, not less. I'm not familiar with the 4.3 so there might be more aftermarket parts available. I would think you would probably have to swap the computer also, but don't quote me on that.

 

would it even be better for a camaro?, v6 camaros are pretty dam fast and powerful as is.. if ur gunna go through abunch of mod crap to put a blazer engine in, i'd just go with the ls1.. just a opinion tho =), i used to have a 96 blazer b4 i baught my camaro, it was decent, but idk how that engine would preform in a camaro

 

i wouldnt put that engine in my camaro. I SMOKED a S-10 chevy X-treme truck with flowmaster exhaust , headers and a short throw shifter. Me and this guy raced 6 times and i won every time. My camaro was bone stock at the time. And i beat him by like 2 or 3 car lengths
