Default Vent tube 02 3.8?

Any one know if the vent tube for the automatic transmission on an 02 firebird 3.8 is supposed to just be vented to atmosphere or if it's supposed to be routed to a charcoal canister or something similar?

Vert tube is just to the top of the trans. It just allows air to come out and go in as the trans heats up and cools down. Charcoal Canister is for Fuel vapors. Transfluild should not have vapors,, well I guess I should say if it gets so hot that is does have vapors where the vapors are going will be the smallest of your problems.

Mine was connected to the axle vent tube with a "T" fitting, I was just curious if that "T" fitting was supposed to be connected to any thing, seemed strange to have the two connected if they are just going to vent it to atmosphere.

Just doesn't seem like GM to waste 4 or 5 feet of vacuum line just to connect the tranny and the axle vents together.
