RE: v6 camaro sound?
Flowmaster, magna flow and pretty much all decent exhaust for the 3.8 add about 11 rwhp. It has been argued over and over what is better, so its really a matter of personal opinion. For best sound & power, get Headers along with the cat back exhuast. If performence is really important to you, you should get a new S pipe after you get the headers & exhaust, as that will then be the lest wide peice of your exhaust. If your car is a 98+ dont bother with a new intake. Get a whisper lid, a K&N Filter and that ram air type kit that takes air from above the radator.
Also, if your still using 3.08 gears, you will want to switch our your rear end for one with 3.42 gears and an LSD. This will save a lot of time on your 1/4. Aluminum drive shaft would also help. Those are your main bolt ons for the 3800 and with some practice should get you to about mid 14s. Then we can start talking about power adders

Limited Slip Differential (LSD). S-pipe is the part of the exhaust that comes out the cat, and bends and connects to the intermediate pipe. Most of the cat back exhaust for the v6 don't replace the s-pipe, so it is still 2.25" diameter exhaust. The exhaust I got, was made for a single cat LT1, and replaces that s-pipe.

It is an Edelbrock catback. I bought it from ftpp.net thinking I was getting the v6 kit (some reason the kit they list is actually made for LT1). Got it, and realized I got the LT1 kit, so my friend and I had to modify it a little to fit. Sounds okay. I haven't really heard a 3.8 exhaust that makes me grin, except this one... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YfZ2Msn2Ig
