Turbo, Supercharger, Procharger?

Question Turbo, Supercharger, Procharger?

Hi, im looking into buying a v6 5 speed 4th gen camaro and i was wondering what would be the cheapest option, the best option, or the easiest option for the camaro. Should it be supercharged , turbo charged or procharged?
and can i get a price estimate for all those?

None of the above are cheap or easy. Unless you have an unlimited budget and amount of time, I wouldn't bother. V8s are the 'easiest' to do mods like that because parts are easy to find and it's been done many times over.

Agreed. They dont produce them anymore also.

only about 500- $1,000 more than a cheap v6

you gain 75-90HP stock and with long tube headers and a CAI, you'll be over 300 crank HP.

I wouldn't say they don't produce them anymore, there's ways of making things work. It's just not easy and requires a lot of knowledge of parts and building cars, and possibly fabricating a lot of parts as well. Adding any kind of boost to a car can put a lot of strain on a lot of parts, especially if you're adding enough boost to even make all the effort worth the investment. Even then, it probably won't be much faster, if faster at all, compared to say a v8 with just a few bolt on exhaust parts. It's not common to do and I don't know anyone on the forum with a boosted 6, but there's kind of a reason why.

Well, i have looked into z28's but i want a 5 speed or 6 speed and those are like one in a million. Its alot easier to find a v6 5 speed and id get better gas mileage. I figured some company would make the parts and all that

If you're not mechanically inclined, I suggest you start calling your local speed shops for quotes and tell them what your HP/TQ goals are, and application -- street, strip, autocross, etc.

I have not found much success in locating complete 4th Gen V6 power adder kits, there are some nitrous kits...

Also, will this be a year-round daily driver? If so, I would not advise going the V8 route. Start with all the V6 bolt-ons and go from there deeper if you feel the bug still itching...

Makes me giggle a little.. why would you buy a Camaro for gas mileage? I mean.. sure the v6 gets good MPG, but adding some power will take some of that away. In my head, Camaros are "Performance" cars and not "Lawl I get 40 mpg n'd i luv the planet <333" cars.

Don't bother getting a V6 if you're just going to get some forced induction among other supporting mods and still expect good MPG.

You better rethink what you want, MPG/Economic or Performance.

Well chvy manufactured the v6 for a reason and it def wasnt for performance. The goal here is trying to find the best of both worlds and its not really the gas mileage its mostly the fact that manual z28s are one in a billion
