Troublesome Bulb
Now for she story behind the taillight!! Well at first when i turned left the light one the dash wouldnt blink just stay solid...so i put my turning singal and put the car in park and noticed that in the front it didnt blink just stay solid and in the back it just didnt turn on at all!! So i took of the wing nuts and checked it all out and as soon as i gave it a little hit it turned on and everything went to normal!! So everytime i started the car i just got out and have a little hit and it was normal...but then the cold came and when i hit it just cracked and fell off lol...anyways my asumption of the whole thing is that i need to just replace the bulb due to corosion or rust not allowing the bulb to connect w/ the wire...is that what i should due then?????Im just sick of the whole situation...the cheapest i found was 50 dollars for the ds tailight on ebay and i think thats way too much!! thanks for the input...jon...
that used to happen with my old v6 camaro all the time.... and whenever it happened you could hit the light and it would work again.... mine was a pretty easy fix i just took all the lights out of the tail light assembly and cleaned them up and made sure they had a good connection. I think i may have replaced one bulb in total. It worked fine afterwards
Ah. Very common. It's the bulb itself. I had the same problem with my left hand turn signal bulbs. My rear signal bulb would work at times. A hit would fix it. One day, I decided to investigate. Turns out the filament was actually broken. It was a clean break, and the filament would, at times, make contact, thus lighting. Other times, it would rattle as I drove, and not make contact, and would NOT work. Look at the old bulb closely, and in good light. Study the filament. Pluck the glass of the bulb lightly and notice if one half of the filament vibrates while the other doesn't.
