Default Tranny slipping

The RS is starting to slip when taking off and shifting through the gears, least I think thats what it is (keeps cutting out) but it don't do it when up to speed and cruising down highway any ideas what it could be?

Sounds like your 1st & 2nd gear. Is there a sound coming from the rear, or a shake in the car? Just trying to rule out U-Joints, driveshaft or rear-end. Check your tranny fluid on a white paper towel and check the color of it too.

no,no vibration or noise, it could be because the rear seals are leaking taking it in next week. Just didn't want it to be some high dollar sensor or something along those lines. Thanks man.

Have you ever had the fluid changed? Depending on the miles and condition it is possible that it is going bad, just a thought........1SG

the car just turned 117,000 I hope it's not a bad tranny, hopefully the dearlership can tell me more Friday when I take it in for the seals. It only does it when you get on it so thats seems a little weird to me

I'm gonna put the question out there hoping I do not sound foolish. Is it a standard or automatic? Sounds like you are talking about an automatic, but your garage shows a 3800 5 speed. If 5 speed it is most likely a clutch issue, an automatic , it could be a few things, some expensive, some not so much.

It is a 5 speed, really thinking it's something electrical. Dealer said they would diagnose Friday while it is there. Hopefully nothing too expensive and something I could fix myself.

Being you have a manual trans that's slipping, I'm gonna go way out on a limb here and say your clutch is worn out.

mad did you go far out on that limb.

electrical issue causing slipping? if that's what they are saying, shove something up their.... exhaust.

i am going to say that your clutch is going out. start looking into it now.

electrical? thats as dumb as the gm tech that told me i had to pay $60 a quart for acdelco tranny fluid for my truck trans. 6 and a half quarts. i bought a jug of oil for $40, and when i told him, he said the inferior oil would let the gears slip.

don't let the garage take you for an expensive ride.
