tps problem?

i am thinking that my throttle position sensor is going bad. my camaro is a 97 with the 3.8 and the 5 speed. a few symptoms that im having are doggy acceleration (occasionally), slightly rough idle (not to bad), and occasionally when i grab neutral my rpms stay up as if i were still on the gas. i can rev it up and they will then drop as they should. ive searched threads but i only found people talking about symptoms with auto trannys. only had the car a week and damn its great to be part of the camaro family! thanks for any help u can give me!

could be the tps. have you had it scanned for trouble codes? being you have obd2 you should be able to see what the tps is doing with a good scanner. anyways 3.8's arent my stronge point. welcome to the forum, i have moved your thread to the v6 section where you should get some help from somone that knows more than i.

I agree with craby. Get a scanner that can show live data and see what your tps does as you drive and idle. My car also did that a few years again and it was the tps. It was doing it recently with rough idle and a few other things and it turned out to be the ect. You can try disconnecting your tps then start the car then replug in your tps. Should reset it. But do this after you scanned for codes. Even without the engine light you can always get minor codes showing up.
