Default ticket

I know this probably isn't the place to put this but I didn't know where it was supposed to go so if it gets moved..it gets moved lol anyways..
Yesterday I got a ticket because I "peeled out" it was a total accident that's how small of a burn out it was. The ticket was $165 and he cited me for "racing on roadway (exhibition of speed)" is that what that should have been, and is there any way that I could get around that? I had told the cop that my car has been sputtering and when I went to take off that time it decided to run right, which he obviously did not believe..what (if anything) can I do besides just pay the ticket. I'm not too concerned about the money part I suppose, I can always just sell something lol, the only thing i'm worried about is the racing part of it..how long will that say on my record?

The ticket citation is exhibition of power or that's what it is in Vegas we hire lawyers to reduce ticket to illegal parking they usually charge 50 dollars for service then we pay fine

You can take it to court to get it lessened or something. You could also (this is if you choose to take it to court, and in front of a judge) ask for community service hours instead of getting the ticket on your record. My cousin did this when he got a speeding ticket. He asked for community service hours instead of paying for the ticket and getting the speeding ticket on his record. Also note that the ticket will increase your insurance rates, which is I suggest you do not pay it and take it court, in hopes you can get out of it.

Unless you are a lawyer there is no easy way out of a ticket. People have been trying to beat them for the last 60 years. You’re not going to come up with anything they have not seen 100 times. You would need prove you did not displaying an exhibition of speed and the Cop had a reason for Malice against you. Otherwise the judge just sees a Cop trying to do his Job. The Judge knows if he backs you the Cop will never site anyone for that again.

I have a friend who is a lawyer, Just like Toneman said you can get a lawyer and maybe get it lowered but buy the time you pay the lawyer and the court costs your Bill will be over the fine.

Now if there is a points issue it might be worth a fight. Normally a lawyer start to tie up the court with a lot of details to the point the judge says Disorderly conduct $50 fine plus court costs, now get out of here. He has gotten 4 speeding tickets himself in the last 5 years and still has a clean driving record

I would just be happy that a "real" LEO wrote the ticket instead of getting one of those camera tickets in the mail. But, last time I had one, the trooper told me to go to court and he would not show up, it would be dismissed. Guess who was the first person I seen when I walked into court? Thats right, the trooper.

haha i have recieved over 30 citations in the past 4 years (ranging from small speeding tickets to running red lights to street racing and reckless driving (8 points for 108 in a 65 and racing)).... i have zero points on my record... the attorney charges $50 for all traffic citations it is reduced to illegal parking we pay the fine the ticket would have been and its all done

Go to court, don't pay the ticket outright.
A couple years ago, I got a ticket for noisy tires, on a cruise night of all times. Told the judge my charging system was dying and I had to give it more gas than normal to keep it from killing. (that part was true, and I barely made it home) It got tossed out with no court fees either. Paying the ticket is cut & dried and goes on your record. Going to court, you stand a chance of getting leniency from the judge, especially if you have a clean record. And yeah, the cop didn't take "oops" as a good enough excuse.
