Throttle body swap
 

I have a 2002 3.8 Camaro. It uses an Electric Throttle body. Does anyone know if it is possible to swap it for a Cable Driven Throttle body? The cheapest Electric one I have seen is 450.00. I need one because the TPS are bad and the whole throttle body needs to be replaced because the sensors are built into the throttle body. Anyone with info on this please get back to me!

hay welcome to the forum. i moved your thread to the 4th gen v6 section. please read the rules and stickies to help in posting in the proper place. apparently you will have to replace the tb although you may be able to drill the rivets out and replace. not real sure so hopefully one of the guys can help ya.

Switching would be a huge project because of how it works. The DBW uses the throttle to control idle and the a non-DBW system uses a IAC motor. You computer does not have the right connection or progamming to work with a IAC system.

I swapped in low miles 02 motor into my 96. I put all the intake parts off the 02 on ebay. I only got $30 for the throttle body.
