Default tension pully

my tension pulley broke last night on the way home, naturally, the belt flew off, but stayed under the hood. first, a couple questions: the car ran after the belt was off right before i pulled into the driveway. it started to overheat though, that is simply because the belt was off, right?

other, more important question: how do i put a new one on? i've pretty new when it comes to working on cars, so if anyone could help id appreciate it. i'm broke and cant afford to have a mechanic do it. every time i try to loosen it, the whole thing moves.

The car overheated due to no water pump after the belt flew off. What are you asking how to replace? The pulley or the tensioner?
