FYI the V8 3rd gen run 150 to 250 lbs lighter then V6 4th gen depending on options. It all that safty suff that adds up. So you have a heavier car, less torgue and less overall HP. Only way you win is if the other guy does not know where the gas petal is or something breaks on his.
Another FYI My wifes mini-van has a 3.4 in it. Same hp rating as your car, sorry...

Gorn addressed it before I could! :P
The 3rd gens were the lightest camaros of all. Even missing those two cylinders, the OP's 3.4 is still heavier than that 3rd gen 305.

alright, this thread is effectively cleaned. I dont want any more flaming on either side. the kid came in here and asked what seems like a legit question. were talking about two non performance economy motors, one significanly newer than the other. So carry on with discussion if there is anything left to discuss, but no more comments about gutted cats and random flaming of the 3.4

If you dont like it you can start a thread in the issues forum and we can discuss there. I am only human, and therefore do not expect even myself to catch everything, especially in a thread with so much bickering.
This is a tech thread, and therefore should remain on topic. Its not a playground for you guys to bully new guys who either dont know as much as you, or have different opinions. a comment such as "the 305 is a POS" really doesnt require the parenting you tried to implement, alih.
any further questions, please bring them up in the appropriate forum
