Default Stroke it or cam it?

Ok, I have come into roughly $600 of found money. All legit. This is something my wife is unaware of, so lets keep it on the down low.

Now, I have the avalibility to a complete 4.3.Is the crank of the 4.3 compatable with the series II 3800? How about the heads?

Next, I have seen alot of write ups on 3.8 mods, I cant say I have seen anything about a cam swap. Has anybody done this and what gains have the made. If not, could someone recomend a Cam that is worth the $$$.

Stroker kit cost like $2K plus install.

A full cam kit cost $800 plus install and a good nitrous system is about $800 too. You can buy the bare nitrous kit and hook it up, but you will need tuning and stuff.

If you have already dont headers, exhaust & instake, I would save $200 for a cam. If you dont have bolt ons yet, I would get them. Becuase they will make everything else more effective.

Duh, I just remembered the 3.8 is a Buick and the 4.3 is a Chevy.

The thing is I have my engine apart as we speak. Just looking for some up grades. $800. for a cam, what is it made out of titainium? I think a set of headers and new clutch will be more sufficient.

The cam itself is only about $300. You will need more for all the other things to go with it.
