Have you checked for a good spark? Is the check engine light lit? Have you scanned fro trouble codes?

sounds flooded. Are you depressing the gas petal at all when you start the engine? If so DONT!! FI engines do not need "gas" to start. try replacing the plugs, if they get too fuel fouled then they will never work right. let the cylinders air out a little when you remove the plugs. Make sure you are getting spark, just like Pete said. When it does start can you play with the petal to keep it running? Also has the VATS system been messed with?

put a piece of tape on the chip on the key and see if the engine will still start. If the system has been bypassed it could start for a few seconds then die once the computer tries to read the chip.

Either electronic or a leaky injector.

Plus if you blew a gasket from overheating, chances are very good a head is now warped.
Both heads need to be taken to a machine shop to get trued up and possibly a valve job.
