Unhappy Somethings wacked out with my Charging system.

Okay so recently i have noticed that when i drive my car around the battery does not seem to charge and will bounce very slightly near the end of my drive and run very rough. I also heard a squeaking or some noise that sounded like it was from the alternator. So I switched out the alternator and that did not fix the problem.
I then had the battery tested and they said it was a bad battery (possibly from not being charged) and AAP replaced it free of charge.

Im not really sure what the exact problem is, but throughout the day it gets worse and then at the beginning of the next day the battery gauge is back up to normal.

Help anyone? =/

Did you put a new alternator on it or a used one? Do you have a voltmeter? If so, have you checked the voltage on the battery with the engine running? Should be higher than the normal 12 or 13 volts a battery shows indicating that the alt is working. Are the connections all clean? Just some ideas.

i did in fact replace it with a brand new alternator. and i do not currently have a voltmeter but im sure a friend would. i'll try that out.
the main part i dont understand is the grinding noise coming from the general area of the alternator.

so the volt meter on the dash gages is dropping? try cleaning the connections at the battery, i figure if u had it changed the shop that replaced it cleaned it but thats not always the case. so check both battery connections. u should have a red plastic junction box on the passenger side wheel well by the battery. take the wires off and clean all of them, look them over for any damage. u should also have some ground wires in that area if so clean em.

grinding noise... try taking the serp belt off and turn the tensioner, alt and a/c pump and see if they show resistance to turning or a noise. could also try squirting some lub on the tensioner to see if that makes it go away. did u check the belt so see what shape its in. could need a new sertentine belt. im thinkin your tensioner may be bad and letting the belt slip so its not charging correctly.
