Default The SLP Performance Intake Kit...

I am trying to decide which intake system that I want. There are only two choices for the 3.8 V-6. Either K&N and SLP. From what i have been reading, the SLP seems to perform the best.

SLP Performance Parts FloPac Cold Air Induction Systems on www.summitracing.com says it is only for the V8 Camaros, but on the installation instructions it says : Instructions for V-6 and V-8 applications.

Does the SLP system work with the 3.8 V-6 ?

I am assuming that the SLP intake system is compatable with the SLP SS Functional Air Hood that Ecklers Camaro makes for the 3.8 V-6, but not sure. Can anyone give me any advice ?

SLP makes a intake for the 3.8 but you would be wasteing your money.... if you have a 95-97 3.8 get a intake from ebay with a K&n filter as long as you have a good filter tubing is tubing is tubing is tubing as long as its all connected tightly and smooth on the inside.... if you have a 98-02 3.8 then remove the intake lid use a sand paper to sand down and smooth the baffles on the inside and its just as good or better than the SLP when you apply a good filter like K&n

Umm BigNic, im gonna disagree with you on that. My 97 v6 sounds great with a SLP, and my buddy has a 96' v6 with a custom intake from ebay that was a hassle to install, we ended up trimming it up, and still having hell installing it. Mine was a simple remove airbox plug in the MAF sensor into new tubing, line up the tubing and then put the filters on. Throttle response increased as well as can be expected from an intake, and it makes a nice sucking sound and plus looks sick as hell with the two intake tubes running into the manifold.

then your friend made a poor choice in what he purchased my 97 came from a ebay company call chrome intakes fit perfectly true cold air cost me 65 bucks with the filter.....and paying 300 bucks for a SLP cai is redciulous so your paying ehhhh 250 bucks to much for no more horse power and the same sound.....infact i would contest SLPs double headed cai is mor complicated tubing and thusly impead flow causing less hp gain.....
