If this happens while sitting still or at low speeds, it sounds normal. With no airflow through the radiator coolant will heat up til fans kick on...

our camaros are definantley designed to stay cool while moving forward. In traffic they will start to cook in a hurry. Did you get all the air out of the system when you refilled it?

Dont truct the electronic guages.. They are not accurate. I run both mechanical and electronic guages in my camaro. They both contridict themselves.

Stephen, you should add a third gage so that they can take a vote and make a decision. JK
Seriously, the fans are programmed to come on at around 220, so if the car is not traveling at a decent speed and forcing air through the radiator, the temp will rise until the fans come on, regardless that the stat is fully open at 180.
