Default shocks

i'm pretty sure i need new shocks. most camaros i've seen sit quite a bit higher than mine, and the tire will hit the wheel well every now and then if i have someone with me. the car rides fine, buti know i need shocks in the back simply because of it bottoming out. i think the front is fine. any recommendations as to what brand? i'm looking for something with a mixture of comfort and performance. and what other suspension parts should i go ahead and buy since i'm gonna change the shocks?

There are many different brands. All depending upon what you are lookingto get from them. Edelbrock make some great aftermarket shocks. They are performance. You could go back with the stock Bilstein or after market Monroe. What you are looking to spend has alot to do with it. Shop around first. Look through Summit, Jegs or your local parts store flyer (AutoZone.)

Shocks do not control ride height, springs do.

Agreed on the springs. Or, you could lower the front instead to match the back height!

i like the ride height right now, but i don't like the bottoming out part lol. it handles excellent right now, and i don't know if raising it back up to normal will make it any better. i know raising it heightens the center of gravity, but it's not like i'm racing every time i hit the road either. the front suspension is fine, as far as i know, so would i have to get stiffer springs and shocks for the back if i were to leave it the way it is? i honestly like the look of a camaro better when it is level, not with the back raised higher
