hey guys- my transmission is 6 months old, dealership installed a brand new one, on my 94 camaro but my shift **** is acting up. the problem is when i shift the ****, the car will stay in drive, or be one level off of what gear i'm in- like park will be neutral, or neutral will be reverse. the **** feels so fluid and loose, unless i shift extremely slow to let it find the right gear.

There is linkage used to connect the shifter to the transmission pan. They just didn't set the right specs (distance ) on the cable when they hooked it back up that is why it is off.

 

best thing to do is take it back to chevy and tell them to fix it. they should do it for free since they didnt hook it back up right in the beginning.
