Default sgs?

ok i have wanted a camaro every since i was a little kid after four years in the airforce and a divorce i finally got one i am a jet mechanic so i can usually figure things out on a car quick but what is the SGS switch for? i know it is second gear start but why would they even put it in a camaro? any ideas?

If you don't know how to drive in the rain, it kind of helps whenyou take off from a stop.

ya it helps so you dont peal out, and fish tail on take off. I think its kinda nice

on the v6 cars its to take off in second from all the torq that motor has... saves tires too.....

GMfigured out that the V6 cars accelerated too fast, so they put in the second gear start option to slow them down a little. Due to some convoluted thinking, GM figured that the V8 cars did not need the feature.Probably because V6 owners are the most likely ones to gut the cat, and then have to contend with all that excessive power. LOL

if you gut the cat you need 2 switches.......
the sgs and "slow switch" lol

the available tgs (thirds gear start) feature is alsorecommended if gutting the cat or running the car on jet fuel

I'm glad someone finally asked what that switch is for.. I've had my car for a month now and never could figure it out... Its raining here.. so I'm gonna go try it out right now!!! Woohoo!!!

lol. seriosuly it was never on the v8? just TC on the v8? thats kinda wierd.
