Default SES light.. once again

Ok.. recently my check engine light came on.. It happened when I got really low on gas, pretty much on E. I know, mistake right there.. Anyway check engine light came on and was blinking, then stayed on so i assumed misfire. Not a huge deal.. I went and got it scanned and it was the air intake temp sensor and a random misfire. Thats when it was a bigger deal. Let me put it this way: When its floored, it feels like a v6 rustang. Its horrible. anyway, today i replaced the fuel filter which im sure really needed to be changed, but there was pretty much no difference. I'm assuming maybe injectors or something? And i have no clue whats up with the air intake temp.. It all happened at the same time.[:@]
Anyone have any ideas?

i would say there is a slight hesitation at times.. as for acceleration.. there isnt much at the moment. You can definately feel the misfire though.

Running low on fuel on these cars is a bad thing and can damage the fuel pump. The Random Misfire code is usually caused by a lean condition or the ignition module going bad. I would check the fuel pressure under load, throw in a couple of cans of fuel injection cleaner, such as Techron, and if still bad after burning a tank of gas, get the ignition module tested. The IAT sensor can affect the A/F ratio by reporting the wrong temp to the PCM, so it should be replaced.

Yeah, I've been waiting for you Pete. I just talked to my dad about it and i planned on putting some cleaner through it tomorrow, while im at it i'll see if i can get an IAT sensor too.
I'll be posting again in here with results.. and thanks again guys

ok, i replaced all the plugs and wires (dad came home with them, so i figured why not..)
No difference, but i didnt expect any.

Checked the fuel pressure and in my book it says it should be around 40 something psi with the key on but not started. That checked out alright, but it said once it is idling at normal temp it should drop 3-10 psi, which it didnt. It said something about putting a vaccume on it, but i wasnt able to do that today. There is a hose that plugs into the left side of the TB that my dad said had something to do with the vaccume lines (i didnt really look at it) but the plug that plugs into the TB on the end of the hose was split. So I fixed that but still no difference at all.

It doesnt seem to misfire nearly as much if i rev it in park or neutral, but once i'm actually driving if i push it it gets to around 3k rmp and just starts misfiring, and the rpm's don't build much after that. Its a lot worse from a dead stop, it sputters pretty bad.

Did you check the coil packs as recommended? Some electrical problems aren'tnoticeable unless engine is under load.
