Serpentine Belt Shredded; Few 3800 Questions
I was sitting in a parking lot idling just now, when I heard jcvbsjvbafsdvjdfsbv
So I killed the engine and Saw my belt all shredded.
Unfortanely it was 11:30 at a Dark Nowhere-Ville Tennis Court
I only had my phone for light and everything seemed okay( besides the belt )
except When It happened I 'Lost Oil Pressure' Above My oil filter there is what looks to me where a hose goes, and whatever was there isn't anymore.
After I got a rode home, I found this :
3800 PICTURE
And that thing above my Oil filter, Which I'm guessing is my Oil Pressure Sending Unit is gone. Can anyone confirm,?
Whatever It was was taken out by the belt.
If it is the Sending unit, Anyone have a Price offhand?
I'd like to get my Maro back as early as possible tomorrow morning, so wish me luck, and Thanks ahead of time for the help.

Thanks Guys.
2 More Questions.
1. What is the size I need for the belt tensioner?
and
2. What size for the Sending Unit?
I'm of course brining all kinds of tools anyway, But it helps to know.

It's definitely the sending unit. I got mine for around $15 at AutoZone. My tensioner is a 15mm.
I'm not sure what size I needed for the sending unit, but I think AutoZone sells a special socket for them (not worth the money IMHO). I used a regular adjustable wrench for mine, but if you've got a set of deep sockets you can figure out which one it fits. My recommendation would be to buy the thing at AutoZone and then walk the tool aisle to see which one it fits in. Then check your personal toolbox to see if you have the same size in a deep socket.

I have no idea.
When I got to look at it in the day time, It wasn't completely shredded, about 3 of the tracks started to come off so hypothetically, had I been able to see, I would have been able to limp it home.
The only thing I can guess caused it was time.
The belt had 130XXX on it.

When your car is not running, take a look at the inside of the belt where it bends around one of the pulleys. If you can see cracks in the belt, it is time to get it replaced. I know alot of people already know this but just in case there might be someone who don't, it could save someone else from having the same problem.
