Default SECURITY light

Hello:
Does anybody know why the security light turns on in my dashboard? I have a 95 Camaro V6 3.4L

BTW, what do all the little icons mean? Such as lowtrac, skipshift, check guages???etc??

Thanx for the help.

lowtrac - means that you do not have enough traction in the rear wheels , thus spinning your tires or causing the backend to slide

skipshift - means you basically have enough power ( rpm ) to skip a gear and go into the next one instead

check guages - is a security feature that will come on everytime that you start your vehicle. During operation if the " check guages " light comes on then you could ' possibly " a problem and should have the engine checked out. Notice your guages first , the temp. guage or your battery guage -

Sometimes if you have done something to the car and had to disconnect the battery it could cause your guage sensor to act up thus you will need to reset them. Simply find the " fuse " to the dashboard and pull the fuse and put it back in and that should reset your settings and fix your problem if the light constantly stays on.

One thing I can tell you is I had the same problem before but my ignition switch would lock up and I would have to wait for the "security" light to go off before I could start my car. I eventually had to replace the ignition, if your haveing the same problem then I hope this helps, if not, good Hope all is ok for you.
