security light

<FONT face="Courier New, Courier, mono">Hi..I am from Louisiana and ihave a 95 Camaro with a 3.4. When i turn the key to start the car there is nothing and the security light comes on.Then wait 3 minutes for the light to go off then it starts.Has anyone had this problem that can tell me whats the problem.Thanks.</FONT></P>

I read in the owner's manual that is an indication of the resistor chip in the key having gone bad, says to replace the key.

happened to me too once, have the same year and motor. took me like 10 minutes to get it started.

yes, i have a 97 with a 3.8 it's either your key or your ignition is going bad i had to replace something in my ignition, wasnt check. i'd get it looked at.

I have a similar problem. THe little Security light is always on. I have no trouble turning it on. I have always driven it like that on a daily basis with no problem for about a year now. I wonna get rid of it though.
