rusty oil pan help
#3
very hard to get to the pan when its on the car. how bad is it? if its lookin real bad im not sure u want to try cleaning it up. new pan is not that much. changing a pan is not easy so it may be a good idea to spray it down with some rust inhibitor to slow the rust.

Knock of the flaking rust clean it and spray on some encapsulator. Its a special sealer that stops Oxygen from getting to the rust. Rust can not grow with out Oxygen. Its not really what I would call repaired but it will be stoped and the correct color and it wont be growing underneath like it would with regular paint. It should be good for the next decade or so. You will most likey have the pan off for some other reason and you can fix it right at that time.
