rear view mirror

this is a noob question but i dunno if im looking at it wrong but is the only way i can take the whole rear view mirror off is by peeling it off the window and having to re-glue it?

on a few cars my parents had all you had to do is it just slide it off.

should be a set screw on the base of the mirror, its up there toward the front of the car were u cant see it to well. losen it and it should slide off.

actually, there's a clip that you have to remove, then it should just slide off. getting the clip off is kind of a pain though.

ok so theres one more thing that is different on the 93. i stand corrected.

ok i thought it was that clip but your right it is a pain. i tried with a flat head screw driver but now ill try a razor or anything else i can find

So hit the back of the piece till it slides off? I am not replacing it I'm putting LED's in it

WIspartan1026 Jan 17, 2010 09:20 AM

I would think there would be a way to simply remove the plastic lenses (for lack of better term) so you can access the bulbs. It would save you a lot of trouble trying to remove the entire mirror. If you're not replacing it, I would recommend removing it only as a last resort. Otherwise it's more trouble than it's worth.
